Cranioplasty with computer-designed implants

Reconstruction of cranial bone defects with computer-designed implants allows for a better cosmetic result. It consists in the reconstruction of the bone defect with a specific and personalized implant according to the specific shape of the bone defect. Cranial bone defects may be the result of a head trauma, an infection following a craniotomy that required the removal of the bone flap, or the result of a decompressive craniectomy performed after a head trauma, stroke or severe postsurgical intracranial hypertension.

The materials used for the implant can be diverse and adapted to each patient demands: PMMA, PEEK, PEKK or titanium.
