Brain and cranial disorders

Surgical treatment of diseases that affect the brain has evolved significantly in recent years. Currently, surgery on the brain can be performed safely, with a low risk of neurological sequelae and surgical complications.

The use of neuronavigation allows a better localization of brain lesions, giving the opportunity to perform surgical approaches through smaller craniotomies, in addition to implanting catheters and taking biopsies safely and with a pinpoint accuracy.

Advanced neuroimaging techniques (functional MRI and tractography) are used preoperatively to localize brain functions that must be preserved.

During surgery, brain mapping and neurophysiological monitoring techniques enable the identification and preservation of these functions.

In Neurocirugia Avanzada BCN we have all these techniques that allow us to perform neurosurgery with the maximum safety for the patient.
