Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring

Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring allows for the continuous evaluation of the integrity of some functions of the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, cranial nerves, and spinal nerves) during surgery. Identifying a potential neurological damage during the surgical intervention (neurophysiological warning signs) may change the surgical strategy and reduce the risk of postoperative neurological damage. Surgery is performed more safely with intraoperative neuromonitoring.

It is indicated in some cranial, spinal and lumbar fusion surgeries.
